As a women’s health care nurse practitioner, Jeannie Merrick has spent 30 years working with women of all ages as a specialist in gynecological, reproductive and sexual health.
Jeannie’s down-to-earth approach is reassuring and comforting to patients, especially young women experiencing their first female exams. Friendly and easy-going, she makes patients feel at ease asking her questions about topics they might otherwise feel uncomfortable discussing.
Focused on preventive health care, she helps patients identify any health risks, set realistic goals, and develop individual strategies to improve and maintain their health for life.
Jeannie earned her Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner certificate at UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles. She completed her undergraduate Bachelors of Science degree in nursing at the University of San Francisco. Since 2006, she has been recognized as a Certified Menopause Practitioner through The North American Menopause Society.
Prior to joining Oak St. Medical, Jeannie worked as a Nurse Practitioner and R.N. First Assist at Women’s Care in Eugene. Years of experience assisting during surgery – laparoscopic, as well as major gynecologic surgeries – provide her a unique perspective on female anatomy and enhance her abilities as a diagnostician.
Jeannie and her husband live in a log home they built themselves. When not tending to her vegetable garden or chickens, Jeannie rides her horses, and enjoys white-water kayaking and hiking.
