Gilchrist, M.D.Internal Medicine | Primary Care | Osteoarthritis | Sport Medicine Talented and thoughtful, Dr. Andrew Gilchrist helps patients achieve the best possible health through preventative care and a thorough approach. Recognized by his colleagues for setting the highest standards for himself, Dr. Gilchrist has been involved in physician training all over the United States. Dr. Gilchrist did his internal medicine training at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. He earned his medical degree at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno and Las Vegas, where he was chosen as outstanding student in internal medicine. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington and was recognized for outstanding academic achievement by the school’s athletic department. Dr. Gilchrist joined Oak Street Medical in December 2008 after serving as program director of the hospitalist program at McKenzie Willamette Medical Center. Previously, he practiced general medicine in Newport and Medford. Together with primary care, his areas of interest include osteoarthritis, travel medicine, and sports medicine. In addition to seeing patients at Oak Street Medical, he is currently Chief of Staff-elect at McKenzie Willamette Medical Center. Whenever the opportunity arises, Andrew runs the Riverbank Trail pushing his daughter, Eva, in a stroller while trying to keep up with his son, Ian, on a bicycle. Among the many other leisure time activities he enjoys are walks on the beach and driving his classic Austin Healey around the Oregon countryside. |
